Hello Alcott Families!
My name is Terri McAndrew and I am the always proud Alley Cat Principal. This is the beginning of my fifth year at Alcott, and it has been a privilege to call Alcott home for the last several years. I am excited to continue to serve our community, growing our programs and working with our students and families.
Alcott is a newly renovated, beautiful campus and serves grades TK-6th. We also have an after school HEARTS program in addition to the Champions before and after school program, both on site.
We are an AVID (Advancement Via Independent Determination) school. We incorporate AVID strategies and belief systems for our students across grade levels with vertical articulation. Our goal is to ensure our students are prepared and geared for success in all areas, as they transition into secondary schools.
We are also into our second year of PBS (Positive Behavioral Supports) school wide. We have established positive expectations for every part of our campus and practice it daily. This also includes providing supports in social emotional learning, with our counselors who are available throughout the week.
Alcott is a community of educational leaders who work in tight collaboration with all staff. We believe in supporting each other to serve our families in all capacities.
We welcome our parents to volunteer on site, and serve in ASF (Alcott School Foundation) and PTA (Parent Teacher Association). Both parent groups support our students in enrichment and educational opportunities such as field trips and assemblies.
I welcome you all to Alcott and look forward to meeting you soon!
Mrs. McAndrew
